From Russell:
I guess I have always been an artist, even before I knew what one was. My life as a child was fraught with obsessions and things have not changed as an adult. My day to day life has been consumed with observing nature, architecture, shadows, the movement of life; it never ends. I began channeling those thoughts into art at an early age. My poor mother. After high school, after angering every art teacher in my path, I settled down and focused once in college. Instructors like Perry House, artist friends like Mark Wade and Bill Davenport really helped me focus and realize art could be a career path. I had great success during the 1990′s, sold lots of art, hung some work next to and in front of a lot of influential people and had wonderful gallery owners represent me. Collections include Edward Albee, The University of Houston and Buffalo Bayou Art Park. I left the art world in 2000 to start a business. After years away, the ideas have officially backed up in my head and now I am letting them out.
